A few weeks into term LCBC took two men’s boats to Bedford Regatta to gain some race experience. Despite the early start, an M1 bolstered by the return of Lincoln’s two lightweight blues, Bodo Schulenburg and Sam Albanie, found a strong rhythm, and comfortably held off the threat of Clare College in the first round. Unfortunately in the second round they drew Wolfson, who had been looking strong all year. Undaunted, the crew put in an excellent performance mounting a strong challenge and only coming up marginally short. M2 would come up against two very strong crews, and suffered numerous technical malfunctions. Nevertheless, the experience gained was invaluable, and all agreed that they were set up in a strong position for Summer Eights.
