Boat Races 2014
The Oxford-Cambridge boat races this year were dominated by the dark blues, and LCBC was represented in many of the boats racing.
At Henley Boat Races, Rhianna Cearns rowed at 3-seat in Osiris, beating Blondie by half a length.
Next up was Kirstin Bilham, who, along with the rest of the OUWLRC Blue Boat, stormed to victory and beat the Cambridge lightweights by three and a half lengths.
In the last race of the day, the OUWBC blue boat, including Nadine Graedel Iberg, defeated CUWBC with a margin of 4 lengths.
The openweight men’s races took place the following weekend, starting with the spare pairs race in which Lincolnite Matthias Wyss and partner beat their Cambridge counterparts. The final LCBC representatives were Alex Bostrom (2-seat) and Sophie Shawdon (cox) who took part in the Isis-Goldie race, and won by an incredible 13 lengths.
