LCBC had their annual training camp this year at home in Oxford just before Easter to maximise time on the Isis after an extremely rainy winter. Both the men and women took advantage of the sun and the water, training in fours to enter City Bumps the week after. There was a good turn out on either side and lots of stash was finally put to good use!
LCBC entered four boats into City Bumps on the 26th of April, two women’s and two men’s 4+. Albeit wet at the end of the afternoon, overall it was a great experience for most of the novices who got to get a feeling for bumps racing for the first time. The women’s second four did particularly well, taking full advantage of inferior steering ahead of them and bumped up twice! A tiring day of hard rowing, but well worth the energy and we hope to enter again next year. Thanks to City of Oxford for running the event.
