Our crews are amongst the most successful of the college crews in Oxford. Both our M1 and W1 crews rank highly in Summer Eights and Torpids. Outside of Oxford, our women had huge success at Putney Regatta winning both of their events. This is all made possible by the excellent coaching provided for both our rowers and coxes.
Christ Church regatta is held at the end of Michaelmas each year to celebrate the achievements and progress made by the rowers who only started rowing just six weeks earlier. Last year this was won by our Women’s A boat making them the best novices on the river!
Off the water, LCBC offers a great social side with events taking place throughout the year ranging from crew dates to formal dinners. As we have such a large membership from both the JCR and MCR, rowing is also a fantastic way to meet new people across college.
We have an annual training camp which has taken place in a wide range of locations from Lake Banyoles in Spain to the River Severn in Shrewsbury. It is a great opportunity to fine tune your rowing skills with several days of intensive training from our coaches and is good fun too!
We are one of the few boat clubs that don’t charge annual subscription fees making rowing accessible to everyone who wants to take part. We are also one of the largest boat clubs on the river so whether you are rowing just to keep fit or thinking of trialling for a university squad, we have a boat for you!
